HOMESTEAD, FLA. (WSVN) - Two wildfires have sparked in the Everglades, according to the United States Wildland Fire Service.
The Florida Forest Service said that the fires were along the Miami-Dade and Broward County line, several miles off Krome Avenue and U.S. 27.
The first blaze, identified as the Chipmunk fire, has burned approximately 9,232 acres, and is 30% contained as of Saturday afternoon.
The other blaze, the Vulture fire, has burned approximately 286 acres and is 60% contained.
The Shark Valley area has been closed due to the wildfires, according to officials.
