It’s the movie they didn’t want you to see. Almost three years after getting shelved in a Hollywood studio battle, “Coyote vs. Acme” is finally hitting the big screen. As you’d expect, when Bugs, Daffy, Roadrunner, and Wile E. Coyote are involved, things get looney!
He’s been beaten and bruised countless times.
After years of mishaps at the hands of Acme, Wile E. Coyote has had enough — and he’s lawyering up!
That’s where Will Forte comes in.
Will Forte: “I know that, from doing jury duty, a lot of lawyers are not like the lawyers that you see in movies.”
He plays Wile E.’s attorney, as they take on the Acme Corporation in court.
Will Forte: “He is the David vs. the Goliath, so you’re kind of automatically on his side from the get-go.”
It’s a battle alright, because Will and the “Looney Tunes” are going up against John Cena!
He may be the bad guy in the movie but he’s a big ‘ole softie when it comes to these characters.
John Cena: “That’s what made me shed a tear or two watching the end.”
Will and John both grew up watching the “Looney Tunes,” so getting to be part of a film with them felt like an epic blast from the past.
John Cena: “They hit me right in the bullseye. Those cartoons and their animations, really, I would say, stood the test of time. “
Will Forte: “These were like old friends, so it was just an honor to be in this movie. It’s really fun to be acting with all these ‘Looney Tunes’ heavyweights.”
That includes iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and many others.
Almost all of them were brought to life by Eric Bauza.
Eric Bauza: “Why thanks, Doc!”
He’s been voicing the “Looney Tunes” for years.
But he says this movie is extra special because it explores a side of the characters audiences haven’t seen before.
Eric Bauza: “Of all the ‘Looney Tunes’ films, I think it has the most heart. You’re looking at the bane of the existence of this character that we’ve only seen get crushed by boulders and blown up by TNT. But we don’t really care to think about his life after that, and we get to see it. We get to really experience it.”
