CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) – Josh Anderson broke a tie with a two-run single in the eighth inning in FIU’s 2-0 victory over East Carolina on Saturday in an NCAA regional elimination game.

On Sunday, FIU (30-30) will play the Miami-Columbia loser in another elimination game. East Carolina finished the season 40-22.

FIU starter Chris Mourelle pitched 7 1-3 innings, allowing six hits and no walks. Danny Dopico (3-4) got the final five outs, allowing one hit, for the win.

East Carolina starter Reid Love (7-4) took the loss.
