PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a teenager was gunned down in a drive-by shooting at a barbecue outside a Philadelphia home.

Police said shots were fired at about midnight Sunday from a car at the barbecue that a dozen people were having in the Grays Ferry section of the city.

A police spokesman said 16-year-old Asir Brown was hit once in the back and died less than 40 minutes later at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

About six small caliber fired cartridge casings were found in the rear driveway. Several bullets hit the home, shattering the glass of the front door.

Police said a dark-colored vehicle last seen heading north may have been the shooter’s vehicle.
