MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — A Miami man has rented out an entire theater at Regal Cinemas South Beach for the premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" all for a good cause.

The man, who goes by the name of "Purple," and his friend Hamed Wardak, paid out of pocket for 165 tickets and is donating them to children at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami-Dade.

"We wanted to help out some kids so they can watch this movie … it’s a Christmas gift for all the kids," Mr. Purple told 7News.

Children who are discharged from the hospital will be able to see the movie in 3-D with their family Friday evening.

"One of the most remarked movies of modern history is coming out, and now children everywhere are excited about this movie, and now we get that opportunity to bring it to the children of our hospital," said Kara Marante, Director of Children Experiences for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

Marante thanks the Miami Children Young Ambassador program that allows an annual toy drive where anyone can donate gifts to the hospital. If you are interested in making a donation, you can call the Child Life Department at (305) 666-6511, ext. 4875. or click here for more info.
