DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Authorities have reopened all lanes of Interstate 595 in Davie, hours after a tanker truck caught on fire on the roadway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the blaze sparked on the westbound lanes, Saturday afternoon, causing them to close I-595 between University Drive and Pine Island Road.

Crews responded to the scene and put out the flames.

No one was hurt.

Traffic was diverted to State Road 84 at the University Drive exit, as officials urged drivers to avoid the area.

FHP officials later issued a statement confirming the westbound lanes would remain closed for hours due to the fire. Those lanes were finally reopened just before 11 p.m.

The fuel in the truck was transferred to another tanker.
