MIAMI (WSVN) - An officer was reportedly sent to the hospital, late Monday night, after a police chase involved a stolen vehicle.

According to reports, the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the area of 830 NW 18th Ave. in Miami. Miami Police said they were responding to a call that came in regarding a robbery.

Moments afterwards, a police chase began that resulted in the suspect T-boning a police cruiser. The cruiser, which had an officer and a trainee inside, was struck and dragged for a short distance.

The trainee, a female officer, was given medical attention on the scene, but taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital as a precautionary measure.

The officer has been listed in stable condition and was released from the hospital, Tuesday morning.

A second police vehicle was struck, but that officer’s condition is unknown.

The suspect was taken into custody by Miami Police and is now behind bars.
