MIRAMAR, FLA. (WSVN) - A pilot made an emergency landing, Friday morning, near a canal and residential area.

The unexpected landing, on a dirt road near Southwest 47th Street and 131st Terrace, involved what officials said is a yellow ultralight plane. The pilot said he accidentally flew into controlled airspace and a police helicopter ordered him to land.

“He just started to fly around me,” Alex Kasimtsev said, “and he waved, ‘Go down, go down.'”

7News Skyforce was over the scene where the pilot reportedly made an emergency landing along the north side of a canal bank that runs along Countyline Road.

The pilot will now have to deal with the Federal Aviation Administration and figure out how to remove the plane, since he can’t take off from the dirt road.

The pilot was not injured.
