PLANTATION, FLA. (WSVN) - The FBI has arrested a man, who was caught on camera smiling while robbing a TD Bank in Plantation.
Jonathan D. Bumgardner, 26, was arrested Friday by the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime Task Force in Deerfield Beach.
According to federal authorities, the man told the bank employee that he had a weapon and demanded money. It’s unclear how much he got away with.
No customers were inside the branch on North State Road 7 and Broward Boulevard when the incident occurred, on Thursday, at around 10:15 a.m.
Bumgardner is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. He is scheduled to appear in a Fort Lauderdale Federal court room on Monday. It’s unclear if he has hired an attorney.
