MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - An elderly woman was struck and killed by a van in Miami Beach, Wednesday morning.
According to Miami Beach Police, sometime just before noon, the woman was hit in the area of 41st Street and Sheridan Avenue. The elderly woman died after being transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

According to Miami Beach Police, the driver was making a left-hand turn when the pedestrian was walking in the crosswalk. The driver failed to yield to the pedestrian, police said.
Officials said the driver remained on the scene.
All lanes were temporarily closed to allow for an investigation.
