PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. (WSVN) — Five people, including a 10-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital after, authorities said, three vehicles collided on Interstate 95, in Pembroke Park, Sunday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash near the Hallandale Beach Boulevard exit, at around 12:15 p.m.
Officials said five people were transported to area hospitals. Three of those injured, including the boy, were transported as trauma alerts and are listed in critical condition.
All southbound lanes of I-95 remained closed near the scene of the crash until 5:15 p.m. while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
Investigators believe a fourth vehicle that crossed from the express lanes into the general lanes may have caused the crash.
