UNDATED (WSVN) — Sports Illustrated Magazine will be introducing a new body of work in its 2015 Swimsuit Issue.

Each year, the issue faces criticism for showcasing one type of female body. But this year, the famous magazine will feature a range of women in all shapes and sizes.

It is considered a new era for a sports staple. The annual swimsuit issue showcasing two models that look more like the average woman. “Hi, my name is Robyn Lawley and I am a rookie this year at Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue,” said one of the new models in a promotional video.

Lawley will be appearing in the magazine wearing her own line of swimwear. She is a size 12; the average American woman is a size 14.

Lawley has appeared in magazines across the world, yet still said she did not think she would have a chance at being an SI swimsuit model.

However, Lawley is not the only curvy girl making history this year. Model Ashley Graham, a size 14, will appear in an ad for the swimsuit company, Swimsuits For All.

The company is launching a campaign to promote self confidence in women with the hashtag #CurvesInBikinis.

The 2015 issue will feature 24 different ladies photographed across America. The coveted position of cover girl went to 24-year-old Hannah Davis.

The cover was revealed Wednesday evening.

Davis, a native of the Virgin Islands and Derek Jeter’s former girlfriend, is making her third appearance in the magazine. It is her first time on the cover.

The issue will be released online Monday and will hit newsstands the next day.
