Victoria Justice is taking Hollywood by storm, but the actress hasn’t forgotten about her South Florida roots. Deco caught up with her at the celebration of her new cover shoot — at the other Hollywood, right here in SoFlo.
Victoria Justice rocked out at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The actress celebrated her appearance on the cover of Venice Magazine at Kuro.
It’s a homecoming for Victoria. She was born in Hollywood, Florida.
Victoria Justice: “It’s really cool to be honored right in my backyard. It was a great excuse to come home again and go swimming in our beautiful beaches. Nothing compares to our Hollywood beaches. It’s like the best-kept secret, I think.”
Victoria loves to sing and act — but hey, fashion is always fun.
Victoria Justice: “My cover shoot and interview for Venice Magazine was great. It was an amazing experience shooting for the magazine. I love the wardrobe, it was 70s-inspired. And all the clothes were things I actually wear in my real life.”
The 23-year-old will get plenty of more time in front of the camera. She’s appearing in the FOX show “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life.”
And she’s taking on a cult classic in the fall. Victoria will play Janet in a remake of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Victoria Justice: “Playing Janet Weiss in the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ reimagining on FOX. It’s gonna air this fall, was a dream come true, honestly. I’ve been a fan of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ for a really long time now. I saw it for the first time when I was in fifth grade. I went to my first midnight showing when I was 15.”
Music has never been far from Victoria’s mind. In between acting roles, she always finds time to write music and sing.
Victoria Justice: “Music is a huge part of my life. It’s constantly like in my blood and who I am, so whether I do more movies, musicals or — I’m not exactly sure what the plan is, but I know that I will be releasing my own music.”
Sounds like this cover girl’s career is definitely hitting a high note.
