"Mortal Kombat," "Resident Evil" and that butt-kicking tomb-raiding Lara Croft have all inspired big movies. True, even though Shireen’s been out of gaming since she realized Ms. Pac-Man’s bow was polyester. But there’s a new game-based movie out. Super Mario’s long lost brother Chris Van Vliet is here with a look.

I played a lot of videos games growing up, so I kind of feel like I’m an expert on this story. Kind of like how I was an expert on Wednesday’s story about beer. Bella Thorne was on South Beach today and we got ratchet.

"Ratchet and Clank" brings the popular PlayStation game to life on the big screen.

If you haven’t played the game — Ratchet is a cat-looking creature called a Lombax, and his buddy Clank is a brainy robot. In the movie, they stumble upon a weapon that can destroy planets, so they join forces with a group called the Galatic Rangers to make sure those weapons don’t get used.

One of those rangers is voiced by Pembroke Pines native Bella Thorne who chatted with Deco at the W on South Beach.

Chris Van Vliet: "Do you see any of yourself when you see this character on the big screen?"

Bella Thorne: "Oh yeah! She’s badass! And I’d like to think I’m a little badass."

Bella co-stars in the movie with the voices of some Hollywood heavyweights like Sylvester Stallone, Rosario Dawson and Paul Giamatti.

Chris Van Vliet: "Is there like a process of finding the voice or are you just you?"

Bella Thorne: "This was so easy. Usually it’s actually much more difficult because my voice is so low and manly. They were like, ‘You’re really low voice works, like you could even go lower than that.’ And I was like, ‘If you really want me to go lower, people will think it’s a man.’"

Chris Van Vliet: "If we were to throw down and play a video game right now, head to head…"

Bella Thorne: "You would win."

Chris Van Vliet: "But what game would it be?"

Bella Thorne: "Probably if I wanted to win, ‘Mortal Kombat’ or ‘Grand Theft Auto.’"

Chris Van Vliet: "You would not win."

Bella Thorne: "No, I would win, I’m really good."

Chris Van Vliet: "Oh well then you would win."

Bella Thorne: "I play dirty, button smashing isn’t respected, but what can I do? I don’t have the eye coordination skills."

The tagline for this movie — you’re going to love this — is "Ready to kick some asteroid!" I love me a good pun. "Ratchet and Clank" is in theaters April 29.
