MIAMI (WSVN) - The Miami Heat will pay tribute to Jose Fernandez with special warm-up shirts, Tuesday evening.
The team will wear the shirts as they shoot hoops before they face the Brooklyn Nets at the American Airlines Arena at 7 p.m.
Twenty-four-year-old Fernandez and two friends, 27-year-old Emilio Macias and 25-year-old Eduardo Rivero, were killed in a boating accident off Miami Beach that left his boat overturned on a jetty, near Government Cut and South Pointe Park, early Sept. 25.
The news shook not only the Major League Baseball community but the South Florida community, as well.
