If you dread working out, maybe you just need a new place to move. From yoga in a sacred place to spinning under the moonlight, in tonight’s Style File, 7’s Belkys Nerey has some unique workouts that will put you over the moon.

WSVN — Crazy things happen under a full moon, and now that includes working out.

Each month, on the night of a full moon, the fitness instructors at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne teach a spin class under the moonlight.

Mauricio Toro: “We have the fortune to have the ocean right in front of us, and the moon rises right over the Atlantic Ocean as our backdrop. The Tequesta Indians called the island ‘Bischiyano,’ which means ‘favorite path of the rising moon,’ and they were mesmerized by the views of the full moon every month.”

The spin class starts right at sunset and while you’re pedaling to the music, you will be moonstruck as you watch the moon rise right in front of you.

Kristy Wright: “As I saw the moon rise, it increased my energy. I just continued pedaling, I felt like I was on the ocean chasing that moon.”

The one-hour class costs $25 and you’ll sweat in Ritz style.

Mauricio Toro: “We will pamper you and offer you refreshing water, spritzers, cold towels.”

If you’re a “yogi,” skip the average four walls of a yoga studio and bring your mat to the Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami.

Malva Borba: “I believe, just when you enter the Ancient Spanish Monastery, you can feel the energy of this magnificent place. It’s almost a thousand years old.”

Four times a week, Malva Borba teaches her version of meditative yoga.

Malva Borba: “I teach yoga for 30 years, and over the years I develop my own style, so it’s a combination of Vinyasa and Kundalini.”

Lina Navarro: “It takes care of your body, your mind, your spirit.”

The yoga classes rotate around the sacred space. Sometimes you’ll be posing outside in this beautiful courtyard with a prayer well or inside the open-air Loggia.

Malva Borba: “The most important room, at the time when the monks lived here, was the room of silence.”

Students say it’s an honor to take a class in a space filled with so much history, and they feel a connection with the monks who used to live here.

Marisa Rivera: “When you think about thousands of years ago, monks were humming and singing. To me, that energy comes back to us.”

Yoga classes at the Spanish Monastery are $30 or $150 for 10 classes.
