DANIA BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Surveillance video caught a woman fighting with a purse snatcher before she was run over, last Saturday, at a Dania Beach gas station.
The woman was pumping gas at a Mobil, located at 3991 Stirling Road, when the man seen in the video opened the victim’s driver’s side door. That’s when the man took her purse and ran back to his car.
The woman attempted to hit the man with a wallet she had in her hand. Undeterred, the man got into his car. She then jumped on top of the man’s silver Cadillac.
The man tried to close his door, closing it on her arm, and when the woman remained on top of the car, he quickly drove away. The woman fell off the car before the thief escaped, partially running over her in the process.
“This is very bad, you know,” said Ali Kazi, Mobil manager. “This no good. She’s our regular customer. She’s very nice lady. I’m so sorry for her. She risked her life for the purse.”
The victim is OK and has since been released from the hospital. Doctors at the hospital told her that it is amazing that she only has a sprain on her leg, and that it could have been a lot worse from the altercation.
