HOMESTEAD, FLA. (WSVN) - The Wings Over Homestead Air Show will take off this weekend.

Some high flying fun is ready to take off from Homestead Air Force Base, and a former Marlin is ready to take flight.

Daredevil pilots are trained to thrill crowds with high flying stunts and amazing maneuvers. The show will feature the World Renowned United States Air Force Thunderbirds.

During Thursday’s sneak preview, former Miami Marlin Jeff Conine got the chance to tag along for a high speed ride.

Conine told 7News that he’s never flown in a plane like this before. When asked why he’s doing it, he said, “Are you kidding me? This is one of the best machines in the world.”

The Golden Knights U.S. Army Parachute Team will also take flying leaps from planes to create spectacular demonstrations as they come down.

One of many experiences with the armed forces — the former Marlin has already had. “I got to jump with the Army Golden Knights last year and we went over and trained with the Marines over in Bahrain,” Conine. “I went to visit the troops and I was in a nuclear submarine earlier this year with the Navy. So this is it man.”

Spectators can also expect to see all kinds of aircraft ranging from bi-planes to supersonic jets.
