MIAMI (WSVN) - Several South Florida leaders were honored in a ceremony by the United Way, Wednesday.
The United Way of Miami-Dade hosted its Meeting and Volunteer Awards celebration at Jungle Island.
State representative Jose Felix Diaz, Marielena Villamil, Tina Brown and Meg Daly were recognized for their service to the community.
A youth award was also given out during the ceremony.
American Airlines also presented the United Way with a $350,000 check to recognize Marilyn Devoe, who retired from the airline after 39 years.
