POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida community is coming together to give back to a veteran from Pompano Beach.
Home Depot teamed up with Rebuilding Together Broward County to provide veteran Ronald Herbst with some much needed repairs and improvements for his Pompano Beach house, Friday.
Dozens of volunteers worked on everything from ceiling repairs to landscaping.
The former service member said that the project showed him how much his community is willing to do for others. “It says a lot about community, you can see all the different people here from all walks of life,” said Herbst. “They’re all doing a beautiful job, and they all work together.”
The project organizers said the home is now better equipped to serve the needs of Herbst and his wife.
