MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A man has been arrested after, police said, he shot at a Miami Beach hotel after he was asked to leave.

Video from Andy Slater, of 940 WINZ, shows three shots being fired into the Hotel Croydon, Aug. 13, just before 8:15 p.m.

Police officers and employees reported the suspect, who wasn’t a guest of the hotel, was asked to leave the pool area. Upon exiting the property, he pulled out a firearm and shot several rounds into the building.

After the shooting, police said they found the subject running up a boardwalk at 38th Street. They then said he threw a beer at them before he was arrested.

The suspect, who police identified as 29-year-old Juan Ortiz Sierra, has been charged with aggravated assault on an officer, discharging a firearm in public and doing so while under the influence. “He shouldn’t have been carrying a firearm,” said one hotel guest.

An arrest report from Miami Beach Police did not mention if any gun was confiscated. However, Miami Beach Police said several spent casings were found, including one in Sierra’s pocket.
