KEY WEST, FLA. (WSVN) - A Miami-Dade firefighter is facing alarming allegations after, authorities said, he struck a police officer during a bar fight in Key West.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Walter Hoar was arrested after the scuffle, which reportedly took place at the Lazy Gecko Bar, Friday night.

Authorities said he repeatedly cursed at Key West Police officers before kicking one in the face. “He stated he was a Miami-Dade firefighter, and on numerous times told us we were [expletive] [expletive],” one officer wrote in the arrest report.

As police were putting Hoar in a squad car, one of the officers’ body cams fell to the ground. When he crouched down to pick it up, investigators said, Hoar lifted his leg and kicked the law enforcer in the face.

Hoar is currently out of jail on $4,000 bond. He is facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
