MARATHON, FLA. (WSVN) - A green sea turtle has been released back into the ocean after being rescued in August.

The sea turtle, Kala, which is Hawaiian for “free,” was rescued near the Molasses Reef, where she was caught in a fishing line.

One of Kala’s flippers had to be amputated, but the staff at the Turtle Hospital in Marathon said she will be fine because turtles can survive with three good flippers.
