PINECREST, Fla. (WSVN) — A Pinecrest home fell victim to a “gator invader.”

According to police, a 7-foot-5-inch alligator was hanging out in the backyard of a home near Southwest 72nd Avenue and 133rd Street, Wednesday morning.

Once law enforcement officials were alerted, a trapper was sent to the home who caught and removed the unwanted visitor.

Just Tuesday night, a nearby home owner said they had spotted the same alligator in the area and had even put the neighborhood on alert.

Police believe another gator may be lurking in the nearby canal.
