NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A couple fled the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95, near Northwest 95th Street, on foot, Tuesday, according to officials.

According to police, a road ranger and a Miami-Dade police officer stopped on the scene of a crash to help those involved in the collision. That’s when a driver hit the road ranger vehicle and someone who was standing outside of their vehicle from the original crash.

The crash happened at around 2:15 p.m., Tuesday. Those involved in the crash were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and are now in stable condition.

The couple who fled the scene allegedly left a red Audi SUV and ran toward the Northwest 103rd Street exit.

The couple is described as a black male who was wearing a white T-shirt and a white female, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. She has black hair and was in a tank top.

Authorities said those two involved in the hit-and-run are still on the run.

7’s Skyforce HD hovered over the scene of the crash where traffic was backed up, and has since been moving in the general purpose lanes. Both express lanes northbound were blocked as rescue crews and police worked on the scene. The lanes were reopened around 5 p.m.
