MIAMI (WSVN) — Jackson Memorial Hospital officials said they have begun the termination process for a doctor whose attack on an Uber driver went viral online. However, she is entitled to an appeals process.

Hospital officials made the announcement regarding the employment status of Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon, a fourth-year neurology resident, in a statement released Friday.

Cellphone video footage went viral on January showing the doctor apparently in an inebriated state, at Mary Brickell Village, battering and at one point slapping and kicking an Uber driver in the groin. "Let go of his shirt and go home," said one bystander in the video.

"Yeah, seriously, get some help," the Uber driver said in agreement.

According to the man who posted the video, the woman didn’t even order the Uber but got in anyway. The video begins once she and the driver are outside the car.

After kneeing the driver, Ramkissoon is pushed to the ground, but she then gets up and sits in the car. "Yeah, get in the (expletive) in car! Get the (expletive) in the car!" she said to the Uber driver. "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I bet they won’t. I bet they won’t. Get the (expletive) in the car you piece of (expletive). Get the (expletive) in the car!"

Ramkissoon’s verbal tirade then turned destructive. Once she’s in the Uber driver’s car, she begins trashing the inside, prompting the driver to call 911. "She attacked me," the driver said. "Physically, she’s getting money…"

During the 911 call, Ramkissoon yelled out to the operator. "I am a 5 foot girl that weighs 100 pounds," she said before throwing things out the window. "I am getting really belligerent right now, so…"

She then throws paper, then an iPhone. "Oh no!" she said as she threw out the items.

When she’s had enough, she got out of the car and said, "I guess that is it, goodnight."

The transport company released a statement in January: "Uber expects everyone in our community to treat each other with respect and common courtesy, and we have a zero tolerance policy for all forms of harassment and abuse. We have suspended this rider’s account as we investigate the incident."

Neighbors were stunned. "She is a beautiful girl, and I never see something like I just see in the video," one neighbor said.

Miami police did eventually arrive on the scene, but the Uber driver said he didn’t want to press any charges. Uber said they suspended Ramkissoon’s account.
