Happy Wednesday South Florida!
Today expect the hot and humid conditions across South Florida to continue today with near record high temperatures in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain in the mid to low 90’s, while the high humidity will make it feel like it’s 100 to 110 degrees. This weather pattern will keep the Florida peninsula under a steady Southeasterly to Southerly flow ranging from 5-10 mph. The Southeast coast and the metro areas will remain a little cooler with highs in the lower 90’s. Showers and thunderstorms will favor the interior and Gulf coast areas, but with a 40% chance of thunderstorms at best. We also have the presence of the Saharan dust over our region and that will help limit rainfall and thunderstorms developing along the East coast through Friday.
By the weekend, our typical Summer-Like pattern will begin again. Afternoon showers and inland thunderstorms will return along with high temperatures in the upper 80’s to low 90’s.
Heat safety reminder: Stay extra hydrated by drinking plenty of water, wear lightweight and light-colored clothing, don’t get too much sun and stay in air-conditioned areas.
Tropical Update:
The National Hurricane Center is not following any areas for development at this time.
