Hooters is known for their chicken wings. And their hot waitresses, too. Being the gentleman Chris Van Vliet is, he, of course, only goes for the wings. But each year they pick one lucky Hooters girl to represent them, and Deco’s checking out the local contestants.
These patriotically dressed angels at Hooters in Doral are all vying for a big prize.
Kristi Quarles: "Miss Hooters International will have 80 contestants from all over the world. Hooters is currently in 26 countries, so we’ll have girls from Asia, Australia, Europe, South America, Central America."
Each beauty hails from a Hooters restaurant in SoFlo. Tonight’s winners get a chance to compete in Sin City this summer. And there’s a lot on the line.
Kristi Quarles: "The winner of the Miss Hooters International pageant will walk away with $30,000 cash, as well as be the spokesperson for the Hooters brand for the entire year."
The ladies are judged on poise, beauty, stage presence and physical fitness, which clearly they’ve all worked hard to achieve.
Sure, they’re hot enough to work at Hooters, but they’re so much more!
Kristi Quarles: "Hooters girls aren’t only beautiful and like the girl next door — they have personality. They’re moms, they’re doctors, they’re lawyers, they’re teachers, they’re in school, and a lot of them are working here just because it’s fun!"
Like this Hooters hottie from Fort Myers. She’s a biology major!
Sarah Griffin: "Honestly, under every pair of orange shorts or under every little costume, there’s a girl who’s — maybe has a master’s degree in psychology or a bachelor’s degree in biology. I mean, you really have no idea how amazingly talented and successful so many of these girls are."
And former NFL star Adewale Ogunleye admits judging was a labor of love.
Adewale Ogunleye: "It’s not a hard thing to, you know, to come down and judge a bikini contest. I just had to get the clearance from the wife, but she gave me the clearance and I’m down here."
The top five got prizes, but only one could be number one. A big Deco congrats to all the lovely ladies!
Hooters has another contest Friday night at their Pembroke Pines location. Admission is free, and it starts at 8 p.m. and goes to 10 p.m., so if you hurry you can make it.
