DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Florida Atlantic University students showed their support for the victims of the mass shooting in Orlando at a candlelight vigil, Monday afternoon.

The event, held at FAU’s Davie campus, honored the 49 people killed at Pulse Nightclub, June 12.

Speakers at the vigil included school officials who sent a message of peace. “Do everything you can to prevent that circle of violence from getting closer again,” said FAU Communications Officer Roberto Santiago. “We don’t have to live in that kind of world. We can work to change that kind of world and make the world we want to live in.”

Those in attendance also got a chance to sign a memorial banner.
