HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - An 80-year-old woman and her dog were rescued from an apartment after it caught fire in Hollywood, Wednesday morning.

According to police, a fire broke out at an apartment building located along South Federal Highway and Sheridan Street.

The elderly woman was sitting in her living room when her caregiver suddenly heard her cries for help.

“I say, ‘Come out, come out,'” said her caregiver, Ana Cret. “I go to call police from her phone first and the fire come, so I leave the police and come out and scream.”
