INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indianapolis police officer has been shot and another officer is injured following an expressway chase.
Indianapolis police tweeted Monday evening that the officer who was shot has been taken to a hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The extent of the second officer’s injuries was not immediately disclosed.
Local media report the incident began at an apartment complex on the city’s northwest side and a suspect led police along a chase on Interstate 465. The pursuit ended on the east side of Indianapolis.
Police tweeted that the “suspect has been shot and is down.” They say there is no threat to the community.
