MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Private boaters and the Coast Guard rescued seven people along the Gulf Coast after a recreational vessel began sinking Friday morning.

A Coast Guard statement said a 28-foot boat named “Uno Mas” began taking on water off the shore at Pensacola, Florida. Five adults and two children made it safely to other, private boats that came to help.

A Coast Guard vessel then picked up the seven and took them to Orange Beach. A Coast Guard statement says the fact that all seven people were wearing flotation devices and the boat was able to use VHF radios to call for help made a difference.

No injuries were reported.
