DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) — A police pursuit turned into "heavy duty drama" after the driver of a stolen truck turned a highway into a race track.

A truck that was stolen from a glass company in Doral, Tuesday, barreled across a median and put several people in danger.

According to Doral Police, the truck’s driver, Devin Dean, stole a flatbed truck, which was hauling a forklift from CDM Windows and Doors. Dean took police on a dramatic chase south of the Palmetto Expressway and then on to the Dolphin Expressway. The huge rig hit two cars, including a police cruiser.

Dean appeared to have sustained a few injuries. However, no one else was hurt. "He struck the officer’s vehicle with little regards to life or property," said Doral Police Lt. Orlando Sanchez.

The truck even took down a pole and caused a mess of traffic, until finally coming to a stop under the 836 overpass near Northwest 137th Avenue in West Miami-Dade. "He was a little upset, but he was taken in without any incident," Sanchez said.

Dean went before a judge, Wednesday, where he was issued a bond of $23,000 and now faces serious charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
