SOUTH MIAMI, FLA. (WSVN) - A death investigation is underway, Wednesday morning, after a triple shooting in South Miami.

Fire Rescue responded to the scene along 67th Street and Southwest 59th Place, around 1:30 a.m.

According to Miami-Dade Police, one person was pronounced dead on the scene and two others were injured and transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center. One of the transported was listed in stable condition, the other in critical condition. Their identities have not yet been released.

The deceased victim was identified as 33-year-old Larry Edwards, a father of two.

Relatives said Edwards had just finished work and was hanging out with some friends down the street from his home. According to officials, that’s when an unknown subject approached the group on foot and opened fire.

“Honestly, he just did not deserve this,” said Edwards’ aunt, Vondolyn Harold-Vega. “He does not deserve to be dead on that ground over there, so I just ask who ever did it, you’re safer by turning yourself in than by staying on the streets, because my nephew doesn’t deserve this, and he’s gonna be missed truly by everybody.”

Police have brought K-9 units to assist in the investigation.

“My cousin died today, but I guarantee you, someone else will be dead the next week,” said Jacqueline Harrell. “Why? Because nobody is doing [expletive] about the communities.”

If you have any information on this shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
