MARGATE, FLA. (WSVN) - A shirtless man took police on a chase, Thursday morning, after allegedly stealing a shuttle van and hitting multiple vehicles on Royal Palm Boulevard.
According to Margate Fire Rescue, the shirtless man stole the van. As he tried to elude police, the suspect struck at least three cars at an intersection, which injured multiple people, including children.
Most of the injuries were minor and treated at the scene of the accident, but one young girl was transported by ground to a local hospital, fire rescue officials said.
Officials have not confirmed the number of people injured.
The man who allegedly stole the van is currently in police custody.
Roads between 65th Avenue and eastbound 441 have since been shutdown as police investigate.
