SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Nicklaus Children’s Hospital kicked off a week-long camp for patients with cancer with a party, Saturday.

The camp is called United Order True Sisters and is a celebration of food, games and music.

Patients, parents and medical staff joined in on the festivities. “When you come here, you’re worried about having fun,” said cancer survivor Erik Rodriguez. “You’re not worried about anything else. Everything else is off your mind.”

“They have this unique opportunity to be away from the hospital, away from home, away from all the pain, fear and anguish but still be safe,” said camp director Athena Pefkarou.

During the trip, campers will visit Orlando Theme Parks and even get a chance to swim with the dolphins.
