MIAMI (WSVN) - Police are looking for a pair of armed robbers in Northwest Miami-Dade.
According to authorities, a man was robbed of his keys, phone and wallet at gunpoint while leaving an ATM, early Thursday morning.
It all happened along Northwest 36th Street and 12th Avenue in Miami.
“I got some money out of the ATM,” said the victim, who did not wish to be identified. “While I’m going to my mother’s house, a yellow cab pulls up in front of me. Out of the driver’s side, a black male with a burgundy top on jumps out with a pistol. He has a drum on the bottom of the pistol and has a laser on top of the pistol.”
“He got the gun on me while the other guy is instructing him to go through my pockets or whatever,” said the victim, who did not wish to be identified. “They take my phone, the money that I took for my daughter, my ID, my house keys.”
Police said the robbers may have been driving a stolen taxi. Officers tracked down the taxi using the man’s cell phone tracking app.
The suspects crashed the taxi near 135th Street and Northwest Sixth Court, in Northwest Miami-Dade, before running off. However, one of them was arrested.
