MIAMI (WSVN) - A Miami-Dade Police motorman has been injured after crashing with a taxi cab on State Road 112, Monday afternoon.
According to Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, the crash occurred near the commercial entrance to Miami International Airport, on the North Service Road, just before 1 p.m.
Investigators said the crash caused the officer to fall off his motorcycle.
Fire rescue responded to the scene. The police motorman was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries that were not life-threatening.
The taxi cab driver was not injured.
The officer, described by Zabaleta as a 19-year veteran, was on routine patrol at the time of the crash.
