MIAMI (WSVN) - Volunteers gave away 3,000 bags filled with holiday fixings, Wednesday, as part of the annual CAMACOL food drive.

People who picked up their vouchers in November were finally able to exchange them for their holiday food bag from the Latin Chamber of Commerce.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott helped volunteers hand out the bags in Little Havana.

Some people, like Juanita Alvarez, had waited in line for days. “It always makes a difference. I don’t have to buy, purchase these items, because I can use it for my food stamps or something else,” Alvarez said.

Last week, 7Skyforce caught the line of early birds stretching down West Flagler Street and 14th Avenue.

Wednesday’s drive was the Latin Chamber of Commerce’s 31st year handing out meals to South Florida families.
