FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - The stakes for reporting information that leads to the arrest of a terrorist in Broward County just got a lot higher.

According to Broward Crime Stoppers, local and federal law enforcement officials backed a new anti-terrorism initiative, Thursday, which offers a $25,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest of a terrorist.

Broward Crime Stoppers unveiled a new video that advises the community to report any suspicious activity to Broward Crime Stoppers in text while playing scenes of the Paris attacks in the background.

“We don’t want to be sitting with our hands crosses waiting for an attack,” said FBI Special Agent In Charge Xanthie Mangum. “The new opportunity for us as a law enforcement team here is proactive intervention, being able to identify the threats prior, and that’s why this is so critical in giving the people an opportunity to have a number.”

The FBI has the manpower to vet all of these tips, so they have advised people to continue calling, e-mailing or texting Broward Crime Stoppers at BCS, you may be eligible for a $25,000 reward.
