BOCA RATON, FLA. (WSVN) - A fire broke out at a house in Boca Raton, Thursday, and killed two pets.

Boca Raton firefighters arrived at the home near Southwest 13th Street and 18th Avenue, around 3 p.m. Thursday. They said there was heavy smoke and fire inside the garage, spreading to the living area of the home.

There was no one inside the home. However, neighbors were trying to remove pets from the inside.

They were able to remove some of the pets, but when firefighters went inside, they found a dog and cat. They were unable to resuscitate either of them.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
