MIAMI (WSVN) — Jews across the globe celebrated the first night of Passover.

The holiday began at sundown Monday night and lasts eight days. It’s a celebration of spring and commemorates the Israelites Exodus from Egypt when they were freed from slavery.

The highlight is the seder, a multi-step, family-oriented tradition including a dinner structured around Jewish rituals.
