If you couldn’t tell by the traffic, Art Basel is officially upon us. It’s celebrities. It’s art. Sometimes it’s even celebrities doing art! Last night, that’s exactly what happened in Wynwood as Basel got underway.
Heidi Klum hit the red carpet in Wynwood for Art of the Party, co-hosted by luxury furniture brand Roche Bobois and Ocean Drive Magazine. Heidi graces the cover of the December issue of Ocean Drive.
Heidi Klum: “Very excited to be on the cover of Ocean Drive Magazine again. I’ve probably been on it over seven times.”
The supermodel has a special place in her heart for the Magic City.
Heidi Klum: “I love just walking on Ocean Drive because it brings back memories for me. I came here in ’94 and that was my first stop in America before I moved to New York for 13 years.”
Heidi is a woman of many talents. See this Roche Bobois desk with the butterflies? Heidi is one of six celebrities to paint one for the Furtif Art Project. It’ll be auctioned off for her charity of choice: UNICEF.
Heidi Klum: “I’ve done a lot of different charities where I was asked to paint. Usually when I paint, I paint butterflies. I’m a huge fan of butterflies. I love butterflies. I posted it on Instagram because I wanted people to know that I really actually painted it. It took me a week, but it was a lot of fun.”
Tennis star Venus Williams designed a desk too. The proceeds from hers will benefit Lotus House.
Venus Williams: “The design is by V Starr Interiors, and we’re a local South Florida company. We’re up in West Palm Beach. I’ve been a South Florida girl for more than 20 years now, so everything I do, no matter what it is, I bring it home to South Florida.”
Over on Miami Beach, Sarah Jessica Parker hit up Vanity Fair’s party at Casa Faena.
Sarah Jessica Parker: “I was very graciously invited to be part of this very extraordinary, what I assumed to be rather singular night, so I was very happy to say yes.”
SJP surprised everyone when she hit the stage to recite a poem.
Guests sipped on champagne from Perrier-Jouët and experienced art with all of their senses.
Sarah Jessica Parker: “Tonight is kind of an alternative universe. It’s a 12-hour alternate universe, and then I go back to reality.”
