FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - Several crew members recalled the moment a structural mishap occurred at a construction site on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

A scaffolding collapsed at a construction site called the Paramount Fort Lauderdale, Monday afternoon.

7SkyforceHD was over the scene of the construction site, which is located at 700 S. Atlantic Blvd., just south of Sunrise Blvd.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the scene after the collapse around 12:10 p.m.

According to officials, the pool deck on the third floor crumbled to the ground at the beachfront residence condominium.

No one was injured from this accident. “Nobody got hurt, everything is good,” said a construction worker. “We’re gonna take the stuff out of there really soon, but everything is fine.”

Another worker described what he saw. “I saw when the scaffolding was bending, and then out of nowhere, everything collapsed,” he said. “You know, it’s a lot of concrete, a lot of weight.”

The group involved in the construction for the Paramount Fort Lauderdale released a statement that read in part, “Safety and security are our number one priorities, and we are working closely with the Stiles team to determine exactly what happened.”

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
