MIAMI SHORES, FLA. (WSVN) - Police are investigating after, they said, thieves broke into several vehicles in Miami Shores, early Sunday morning.

According to Miami Shores Police, they began receiving calls about the burglaries along the 1100 block of Northeast 104th Street, at around 4 a.m.

“Cutters, lighters, they broke the window, now I gotta pay for it,” said victim W.L. Jordan. “Very upset. I mean, I gotta get it fixed. I mean, I work hard, you know?”

Police said they are looking for surveillance video that may have captured the perpetrators.

Another victim said she believes the burglaries happened between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.

“The detective who came and did the fingerprinting and all of that thinks that it’s kids breaking the window, getting in — a little quick fix of maybe a dollar or two,” she said. “We’re very grateful that nobody was hurt and that they didn’t try to get into my home or anything like that.”

According to residents, burglaries aren’t uncommon in their neighborhood.

“A couple of months ago, my neighbor’s house got broken into,” said Jordan, “and last year, the same neighbor who got broken into, this car, his tailgate got broken into.”

“Six months ago, they stole my tailgate,” said victim Alex Justo, “and this morning they break my window, my back window, they take all my quarter change, everything. I had, like, probably 20 dollars in quarters and everything.”

“They probably did about 400 [dollars worth of] damage this time, and six months ago, probably 1,200,” said Justo. “You know, it’s unbelievable, and we pay high taxes, and I don’t know what the police does.”

If you have any information on these burglaries, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
