Police search for masked Fort Lauderdale shooter

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police are looking for a masked shooter who shot and killed a man outside the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Fort Lauderdale, Friday.

Police said the masked shooter opened fire and killed 44-year-old Gilbert Oosthuizen near Fourth Avenue and 24th Street. One witness said the shooting was over before he realized what happened.

“The next thing you know, pah pah pah, three and the guy ran off,” said Dillon Miyares. “It was just scary, scary to be around.”

Police do not know what the motive behind the shooting was.
