MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - The City of Miami Beach is officially saying, “Hasta la vista” to Styrofoam.

The city-wide ban begins Friday. Officials said it will help keep city waterways, parks and streets clean.

The ban will also benefit the environment and protect animals who cannot digest Styrofoam.

According to the city, any store caught selling Styrofoam can face a fine spanning from $50 to $5,000.
