Happy start to the work week South Florida!
We are experiencing some morning showers and thunderstorms across Broward and Miami-Dade and the Florida Straits due to an upper low around the Northwest Bahamas and a tropical wave South of Western Cuba. Deeper moisture will pass across South Florida during periods of maximum heating with scattered to numerous afternoon showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday.
Potential: Moderate risk of lightning, slight risk of experiencing gusty winds with the thunderstorms that do form and high risk of rip currents due to strong winds off of the ocean. Wind speeds are ranging from the East at about 15- 20 knots across the regional Atlantic waters.
Tropical Update:
According to the National Hurricane Center, we are not following any areas for development at this time.
