A stalled trough and a disturbance over Western Cuba are to thank for the wet mess. According to the National Hurricane Center, this area of disturbed weather has low chances of developing into our next tropical system over the next 5 days.
But, as it continues to drift to the northeast, it will keep us unsettled and soggy through Saturday. Expect numerous to scattered showers and storms leading to anytime downpours.
With the sea breeze picking up by Sunday, expect heavy rainfall favoring the inland areas.
A weak area of high pressure will build back in over South Florida and continue to trigger the sea breeze for the start of the work week. Expect partly sunny skies with spotty showers and inland afternoon/evening storms through mid-week.
