The heat and humidity are in “high supply” here in south Florida.   Heading through the long holiday weekend, the good news is that we don’t have to contend with any tropical weather systems.   As many of you know, the Labor Day time frame often involves a hot bed of tropical activity… and we’ve had numerous holiday spoilers due to the tropics, this time of the year.   We’re now at the peak of hurricane season! Former Hurricane Hermine is still an issue off the northeast coast of the United States.  The system is still causing dangerous conditions along the eastern seaboard (far away from Florida).   Hermine is likely to keep spinning lots of wind and wave activity over a big swath of coastal areas in the northeast.   For us, it’s a much different story.  Weak high pressure is rebuilding.   Steamy but light winds will blow from the south and east, along with spotty showers from the ocean waters.   There’s a good chance that daytime storms will flare up over inland portions of south Florida during the afternoon, primarily.   It will be the result of sea breezes merging from the east and west.   Be aware, some areas of rain and storms could stall or drift aimlessly, disrupting your weekend plans.   Otherwise look for near normal temperatures and a seasonal stretch ahead.
